ITINERARY 1: SIMPLY SAHARA - 4 DAYS, 3 NIGHTS ZAGORA/MERZOUGA ITINERARY

**Day 1**

Arriving at your accommodation in the Marrakech Medina, you have a free day to enjoy the colour, strange adventures and theatrical street shows (sometimes staged, sometimes not) that the city has to offer.

**Day 2**

Departing from Marrakech, you will head South through the full length of the Atlas Mountains on the Tishka Pass at 2600m, a winding, panoramic road with unrivalled views.

You will make your first stop at the ancient Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, bridging the mountains with the desert. Following this you will visit Ouarzazate - the gateway town to the Sahara.

The terrain changes drastically from here - from the height and beauty of the mountains to the arid moonscape of the Sahara, where you will eventually reach your destination of Zagora via Draa Valley. You will travel to the Berber camp on a camel in time for sunset, and experience a Berber evening with incredible and compulsory stargazing.

**Day 3**

Experiencing sunrise from the comfortable saddle of a camel, you will begin to make your way back to Marrakech. You will stop in Ouarzazate in time for lunch and meet the connecting minibus to Dades Gorges for the second stage of your trip where you can relax in the tranquility of the nature that surrounds you.

**Day 4**

Onwards to another Gorge - this time the mighty Todra - where you will spend some time, before heading down to the Sahara that you may only have seen in films. Erg Chebbi are the giant sand dunes that surround the town of Merzouga - a Berber town where you will spend your second night. You will take the traditional method of transport - camel - to the Berber camp in time for sunset, and enjoy an evening of Berber hospitality under the stars of the Sahara.

**Day 5**

After breakfast you will take another camel trek for sunrise before making your journey up North and once again through the Atlas mountains -  arriving in the bright lights of Marrakech and your medina accommodation in the evening.

ITINERARY 2: INCLUDING LUXURY SAHARA TRIP

Dinner and entertainment is within the dunes of Erg Chebbi in traditional Berber tents.

**Day 4**

Then a quick visit to zinc mines nearby the desert. Before lunch we visit the town of Khemliya, where the locals will perform a show of a typical Sudanese exotic dance.

After a Berber tea we will go to enjoy a lunch in a traditional Kasbah where you can also go for a swim in the pool!

(Optionally on winter time you can have a soft picnic lunch in the big dune instead of lunch in a Kasbah)

If you want more adventure, we can visit few wild oasis towards the border but if you are already tired you can opt to chill by the pool until the sun goes a bit down to transfer back into the camp.  On arrival back at the camp before the dinner we will walk to the dunes and watch an incredible desert sunset.

The trip returns in between 5 and 6pm depending on the road conditions in the mountains and traffic coming into Marrakech. We advise against onward travel on the return day to Marrakech

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE TRIP:

Breakfast, dinner, all transport, accommodation (in the Berber camp), 2 camel treks at sunset and sunrise.

Not necessarily. Our guests come from all over the world so on our group trips, the cannot guarantee that the guide will speak your language. However, in the desert itself and on your stops, the guides will speak English.
